Python Job: Machine Learning Engineer

Detekt, one of our products, is a modern Geospatial Data Platform for object and damage detection in Mobile Mapping data which had its product launch in April 2022. We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Machine Learning Engineer to support our multi-disciplinary development team for Detekt.

Job description

• Design, build, train and test Computer Vision components and data processing pipelines and integrate these components into a production-ready platform

• Establish a Computer Vision platform for object detection, classification and georeferencing in multi-modal sensor data (images, videos, LIDAR), together with an exceptional team of Research Scientists, Data Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers

• Create scalable workflows for training, execution and testing of Machine Learning algorithms

• Identify state-of-the-art literature and libraries and assess its practical relevance for our customers and products

• Also work on smaller projects in different team settings and different Machine Learning problems over time to facilitate knowledge transfer

Who we are looking for

• Degree in computer science (BSc/MSc) or in a similar field

• Excellent Python programming skills, knowledge of PyTorch and basic experience in a range of machine learning methods

• Interest in the field of computer vision (segmentation, detection and classification architectures such as U-Net, RCNN, Yolo, Point-Nets)

• Basic data engineering knowledge (SQL and noSQL databases, distributed systems, cloud computing)

• Passionate about all things AI, machine learning and data science

• Self-driven problem solver who enjoys coding as much as tinkering

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Valid work permit for Austria (must-have)
